airqAir quality

Air quality from the best source for the place: a monitoring station where there is one, the CAMS model where there isn’t. Each agency’s own index, never converted to another.

stormqTropical cyclones

placeqCoastal places

Using them

Free, cached, unsupported and not built for volume. No key and no sign-up: send a User-Agent that names your app and how to reach you, and get in touch before sending more than a few thousand requests a day.

As is: no warranty, and no promise of accuracy or availability. Not for navigation, safety or medical decisions; the agency’s own publication is the record. Each answer names its source and its attribution, and the source’s terms apply to what you do with it.

Service status: each service and each of its upstreams, checked every 10 minutes.

Design: one palette for every service’s page and every app that draws their answers.

Algorithms: test data for the calculations an app does on the device, like sunrise and magnetic declination. A separate project.
